In early 2006, Paul and Tracy Wilkes of Wilmington NC happened to visit
Home of Hope. They felt a calling to help this poor orphanage fulfill its
mission, shaping integrally formed, self-reliant women who will live up
to their God-given dignity, becoming agents of social change in the New India.
So that others might help in this work, this website, www.homeofhopeindia.org,
was created and efforts were launched to raise money for Home of Hope needs
and projects and to encourage individuals and mission groups to both visit and
live at Home of Hope, while helping in its programs.
Our vision is provide for the health, development, and education
of the Home of Hope girls and to assist the Auxilium School and Centre, which
houses the orphanage, to provide excellent educational facilities for the poor
children of the neighborhood and micro loans for emerging businesses.
Paul Wilkes serves as the Executive Director of Home
of Hope India – U.S., a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charity, which has an eighteen member board
of directors.
All donations to Home of Hope are fully tax-deductible and go 100% to fund Home
of Hope projects. Ours is an entirely volunteer effort -- there are no salaried
employees.
